Vegan Investors has announced its 2021 Fall Showcase for BIPOC and female-founded vegan startups. Diverse founders from across the US are invited to apply for a chance to gain $100K in funding commitments.
Founded by Alicia Robb, Vegan Investors is a global syndicate of angel investors keen to support innovative vegan startups.
The Fall Showcase will give three to five entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their products and services to a wide range of investors in a live, virtual event.
“Currently, only a tiny fraction of angel and venture capital investments go to women and founders of color,” says Robb. “By tapping into Vegan Investors’ members and syndicate of other aligned investors, more underserved entrepreneurs gain access to capital for the purpose of scaling their businesses.”
Eligible startups must be US-based C Corps or Public Benefit Corporations (no LLCs), offer vegan products or services that remove animals from the supply chain and have the potential to scale up and create a significant and measurable positive impact on people, communities and the planet.
Companies must demonstrate proof of market traction and be actively fundraising.
A diverse team is essential, comprising a founder founders who are Black, Indigenous, or people of color (BIPOC), including Latinx, and/or female-led.
Partners of the Fall Showcase include Next Wave Impact and Beyond Animal.
Applications are open now until 30 June, 2021, with the Fall Showcase taking place on 15 September, 2021.
